SPECIAL PROCESSES – BONDING PROCESS – cap. 1
The use of bonded joints is no longer as in the past the application to secondary structures, but it is extended to primary structures, having a positive influence on the reduction of the cost in terms of overall weight and management general costs.
Because everything runs smoothly is essential that the task is performed in an excellent manner, starting inevitably all those activities that lead to the qualification process and personnel involved in it.
In support of this activity there is the DIN 6701, which defines the requirements to set the design, implementation and control of the joint and the qualifications of the staff.
Being a “special process” argument quite critical in its entirety, you must set the process, clearly defining the principal stages of that through an in-depth and focused analysis of realization.
For this purpose, are listed below some stages of the bonding process, which will be detailed in the next article.
Typical phases of a joining process:
Design of the joint;
Analysis of the requirement;
Classification;
Environmental conditions;
Definition and choice of adhesive;
Materials to be joined;
Development of the joint;
Definition of procedures for bonding;
Equipment and instruments;
Application of the process;
Tests and inspections;
Coordination of the process;
Position to fill:
Staff training.
