Objectives and Planning
"Planning" provided for in point 5.4. of ISO 9001:2008.
"The organization shall establish, implement and maintain documented environmental objectives and targets" dicela ISO 14001:2004.
Much more poetically "The difference between a dream and a goal is a date," says Walt Disney.
Why, then, plan, schedule?
Planning is the first step of the Deming cycle: Plan.
In this step you define what to do and how to do it. It sets out who and why.
It determines the purpose, objectives are defined: it analyzed for the indicators to keep under control the progress of the process.
We define the process team and responsible for the process.
Finally, the timing is essential: without the definition of a term the goal is not complete. And if the goal is complex and requires programming, the milestones must themselves be timed.
Effective planning provides for a definition of priorities and "spaces" for emergencies or unforeseen events.
The planning system is like planning a trip:
= half goals
goals = the steps, stops, the path
as = the medium or means of transport
team = group, family, friends, fellow travelers
= team leader who leads, who organizes
And ... the time? You look at the weather forecast before leaving, but mostly you decide when to leave on the basis of when you want to get. Because if we do not define a date ... the journey remains a dream!
